FEASTING AND FASTING

Luke 4: 1-13 March 7
Prayer: Gracious God, inspire us to trust and be true followers of Jesus with our words and actions. Amen
We are on the next season of the church calendar called Lent. Christians around the world marked this journey on Ash Wednesday. Over many centuries Communities of faith have kept different traditions to mark this season. These traditions helped to deepen our faith and draw our relationships closer to God and each other.
LENT - AN INWARD AND COMMUNAL JOURNEY

The season of Lent is a personal inward journey and a communal outward faith journey. It is an inward journey for deep reflection of the meaning of Jesus in your life. As a community of faith it is step outward after we have recognized where God has led us on this journey. During our reflections we are awaken to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We have the responsibility to share this good news we discover. These may include sobriety, humility and gratitude for life. It is a journey for anyone caught in any trap of life. Our personal reflections and worship in community lead us toward the redeeming love of God.
INTERRUPTIONS

Sunday March 6, 2022 - (LUKE 8:26-39) Jesus and the disciples had been in Capernaum on the north side of Sea of Galilee. They then headed for Bethsaida when the evening's storm blew them to Gennesaret. They were essentially blown backwards - into the opposite direction that they wanted to go. Jesus response caught my attention. Jesus disembarks and ministers to the people around him. It is a response to see the storm as an opportunity and to minister appropriately wherever God lands us.
