ETERNAL BLOOMS
Sunday February 27 2022 - (Luke 9:28-36) The story of Israel’s history is filled with images of God’s radiance. God radiated light from a pillar of cloud by day and night. God appeared on mountains, gives directions and commandments for the people to follow. As God did then, God faithfully travels with us today too.
God is with us as we are traveling on a journey through life with each other. We need the assurance of God’s presence but we also need the companionship of each other when the going gets tough. Perhaps, you have traveling friends, companions and significant others with whom you are traveling through life’s journey.
These relationships are important as we encounter challenges and transitions in our lives. We celebrate with joy on mountaintop experiences and in the shadows of the valley we have one another. We hold unto the promise that God is with us on the mountaintop and carries us across valleys.
In community we help each other to bear the struggles of life. We make intercessions for each other. We offer prayers, care, words of encouragement and we celebrate the goodness of life. As co-travelers, friends, companions we learn that we are not alone on this journey. God is with us amidst our joys and challenges. We need community relationships. The God who created us, loves and keeps us now and always.
May the light of Christ bring radiance and spring eternal blooms as we journey together. Amen
